Airlines Air France and Sata Azores Airlines sign codeshare agreement

French flag-carrier Air France and Sata Azores Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement.

Both airlines have signed a respective agreement to perform codeshare flights. With this latest cooperation, the carrier seek to enhance the overall connectivity and passenger comfort. Customers can now use new travel opportunities to the Portuguese Azores islands.

From Paris-Charles de Gaulle, passengers will be able to connect to Ponta Delgada, Terceira, Santa Maria, Horta and Pico. On all of these flights, the “AF” airline code will be placed. Flights are already bookable, stated Air France in a press release.

As part of the mutual agreement, Sata Azores Airlines is adding its airline code “S4” on Air France services from Lisbon and Porto to main operational hub Paris-Charles de Gaulle. On this basis, the airlines are offering over 70 weekly flights to the Azores and Porto. More than 50 frequencies are being operated between Paris and Lisbon and Porto.

Regarding the benefits, Air France wrote: "Customers thus enjoy a simplified and seamless travel experience with a single ticket, their baggage is checked to its final destination, the baggage allowance is identical to that offered on Air France flights and they can also earn points in the two airlines’ frequent flyer programmes."

Air France has also released, that eligible customers will have access to the Sata Azores Airlines lounges in Lisbon, Porto and the Azores island. Moreover, the passengers can use fast track access at Lisbon and Porto.

Air France is the flag-carrier of France and is currently offering flights to 312 destinations in 116 countries in cooperation with the Air France-KLM group airlines KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Transavia. Together, the group operates a fleet of 554 aircraft. They carried over 104 million passengers last year. Air France-KLM operates up to 2,300 daily flights.

Sata Azores Airlines was founded in 1941 and is the airline of the Azores islands. It is a key catalyst for tourism in this autonomous region. Sata is also offering flights to the U.S.-East coast with modern A321neo aircraft.
