Airlines Air France strike affects flights

Air France has announced to cancel 50% of its long-haul flights from its hub in Paris.

Due to a coordinated one-day strike involving pilots, cabin crews and ground staff Air France is forced to cancel 50% of all long-haul flights, 25% of all medium-haul flights and 15% of all short-haul flights on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Air France offers long-haul flights from its two hubs Paris Charles de Gaulle as well as Paris Orly.

According to the Paris Airport website, four out of six flights from Paris CDG to London Heathrow have been cancelled.

Air France has stated, 28% of the airline’s staff is participating in the strike action. 

 The airline has informed all passengers with close to 60.000 texts and messages. All passengers will be able to rebook the flights free of charge.

Several unions have invited Air France’s employees to strike as they demand 6% more pay while Air France offers 1%.

Air France/KLM have achieved an operating income at 1,48 million euros, up 41.8% compared to 2016.
