For the upcoming fall, Alaska Airlines will start new direct flights from Boise Airport in Idaho, the carrier revealed. In total, Alaska will add direct passenger services between Boise and two new destinations, with operations to two other destinations being resumed this week.

Alaska Airlines has started operations from Boise to Chicago O´Hare and Austin. For the upcoming fall, new routes between Boise and Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport and Phoenix will be commenced.

"Our guests are showing us how excited they are about our new service to Chicago and Austin from Boise with strong bookings throughout the summer months," commented Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances at Alaska Airlines. "Our new year-round route bridging Boise and Pullman-Moscow will offer a crucial link to that area's two major universities, and the seasonal nonstop to Phoenix is another terrific way to quickly escape to sunshine and warmth in the desert this winter."

More and more travel restrictions are currently being lifted by governments around the world, so as in the United States. As more people getting vaccinated, the quest to travel again rises. To meet this new demand, Alaska Airlines is boosting its Boise hub, at which the carrier has been the largest airline already.

With new routes in place, Alaska Airlines will operate 30 daily nonstop flights to 14 destinations in the United States. The flights to Pullman-Moscow will be operated by Q400 turboprop aircraft, while on the flights to Phoenix a E175 regional jet is being used.

Boise Airport Director, Rebecca Hupp, said: "The Boise Airport is grateful that Alaska Airlines continues to improve connectivity for residents of the Treasure Valley […] With Idaho's vast rural geography, regional flights are an important link in our transportation system. I'm confident the nonstop service to Pullman-Moscow matches the needs of our community, and I'm thrilled Alaska is connecting two important regions of the state again."

Over the past years, Alaska Airlines has become a major airline in the United States. After buying Virgin America, the fleet is over 300 aircraft strong. Alaska flies with 44 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, 10 A321s, 170 Boeing 737s, 32 Q400s and 62 ERJ-170 family aircraft.
