The national carrier of Bulgaria has announced, that it will expand its route network with the implementation of flight to 10 new destinations in Europe and Asia. This announcement comes in one of the most challenging circumstances the airline and aviation industry has been in.

Beginning spring thin year, Bulgaria Air will serve direct passenger flights between main operational hub Sofia and destinations like Dubai, Corfu, Rhodes, Crete, Thessaloniki, Budapest or Kiev. For the May holidays, the airline released, three exclusive flights are planned on the route between Sofia and Dubai.

At the end of April, Bulgaria Air will launch the first regular direct flights between Sofia and Budapest and Kiev. Then in May 2021, the airline will add Thessaloniki, Crete and Rhodes to its holiday destination portfolio. In June, the carrier is expected to perform its first flight on the route between Sofia and Corfu.

"Pleasant surprises will continue throughout the year with more good news and new flights to even better destinations. The airline has resumed its regular flights between Sofia and St. Petersburg and between Sofia and Valencia, for the summer 2021 season, and tickets for them are also now on sale," the airline added.

Recently, the airline also announced new flights and a more convenient schedule for its service between Sofia and Varna, which is being operated daily. Bulgaria Air will now perform the flights right after the end of the working day.

At a time, where every airline is looking to slowly re-start operations, Bulgaria Air is choosing a different approach to returning to full service. This very proactive strategy builds on the hope, that until April all major travel restrictions will be lifted.

But if all flights can go ahead as planned, the airline will expand its network with new cultures and cities. Bulgaria Air was founded in 2002 and is constantly expanding its route network. Currently, the airline is operating with a fleet of two Airbus A319s, three A320s and four Embraer ERJ-190 regional jets.

The national flag-carrier has its main hub at Sofia Airport, while focus cities are Burgas and Varna Airports. Currently, the airline is serving flights to 26 destinations, especially in Europe and Asia.
