As value-chain aircraft solutions provider, China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Ltd will lease its aircraft to various airlines across the world. This latest order underlines the company´s satisfaction with the model.

The agreement comes after CALC had ordered 26 A320neo aircraft. This new purchase agreement includes a conversion of 15 existing A320neo orders into A321neos. Together with the previously ordered 11 A321neos, CALC´s total order for the type rises to 66.

With an accumulative order book of 252 aircraft, CALC is the 7th largest lessor customer for Airbus. This is thanks to the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

"CALC’s order is an endorsement for the A321neo and reaffirms the market demand for the aircraft.  With unbeatable fuel efficiency and lowest operating costs, it is the best match for CALC’s customers. To date, from CALC’s total order for 252 A320 Family aircraft, 87 have been delivered, of which one is an A321neo," Airbus said in a statement.

Mr. Mike POON, Chief Executive Officer of CALC, said: “We are delighted to further bolster our fleet with this addition of 40 new Airbus A321neo aircraft. We see enormous market appetite for this single-aisle aircraft with lower operational cost, and the order is in line with our portfolio strategy of investing in the most in-demand modern technology aircraft with unbeatable fuel efficiency. Moreover, continuous and consistent order is the driving force behind CALC’s sustainable business growth. Not only does a strong order book strengthen the Group’s ability to provide our airline clients with one-stop fleet upgrade services, it is also an important asset to reinforce our leadership in the global aviation market. This latest order takes CALC's cumulative orders to over 250 Airbus aircraft. We are proud to reinforce our strong strategic relationship with Airbus and look forward to carrying this mutual trust long in the future.”

The A321neo is the largest member of the A320neo Family and can seat up to 240 passengers, depending on the cabin configuration. New aerodynamical advantages and cabin innovations help the aircraft to reduce its fuel consumption for 20 percent per seat.

Airbus has received more than 15,300 orders from over 300 worldwide customers for its A320 Family. To date, more than 9,000 aircraft have been delivered.

CALC is a leasing company that was founded in 2006 and has its headquarters in Hong Kong. The company is currently the largest independent lessor in China. Its clientele is widely spread across 15 countries and regions.
