Airlines Delta launches new cabin configuration for B777-200ER fleet

Delta Air Lines has launched its new cabin product on the Boeing 777-200ER. Until 2019, the carrier hopes to complete the fleet´s cabin retrofit.

Delta´s first refreshed Boeing 777-200ER took off from Detroit to Beijing, featuring a new cabin layout.

Currently, Delta operates eight Boeing 777-200ERs and 10 Boeing 777-200LRs. All aircraft will be retrofitted by the end of 2019, according to the airline.

With the new cabin, Delta will be able to welcome 296 passengers in total, with 28 Delta One Suites, 48 seats in the Delta Premium Select cabin and 220 in the economy cabin, which is configurated in a 3-3-3 seating arrangement (9-abreast). LED ambient light will provide customized lighting schemes during different phases of the flight.

As a highlight, Delta has installed Delta One Suites in the 777-200ER aircraft. The award-winning suite offers a private space to the customer. Moreover, new personal stowage areas have been installed, as well as an advanced IFE (In-Flight Entertainment) system.

While the Delta Premium Select cabin features additional space with adjustable head and footrests, the Main Cabin has 18.5” wide seats. By shrinking the seating configuration from 10-abreast (3-4-3) on previously B777-200 aircraft to 9-abreast, the seats will be wider. Each seat is equipped with power ports and an IFE.

Delta said, that the Detroit to Beijing route will be served by the newly refurbished Boeing 777-200ER, replacing Airbus A350 aircraft.
