Airlines Egyptair and Flynas sign agreement to add new destinations

Egyptair and Flynas have signed a codeshare agreement to add new destinations in Europe and Africa.

A Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement has been signed between Saudi´s national carrier and Egyptair. Ultimately, the agreement aims at adding new destinations in the African and European market.

Passengers will have a wider range of air travel options when flying with the airlines. Flynas´ passengers will be able to connect to various destinations in Africa and Europe through using Egyptair´s hub at Cairo International Airport. In a statement, the airlines wrote that passengers now can connect to cities like Asmara, Athens, Paris, Entebbe, Rome, Larnaca, Casablanca, Tunis, N’djamena, and the country of Algeria.

On the other hand, Egyptair passengers will be able to reach various Saudi Arabian domestic destinations with Flynas. Both airlines said, that flights under this agreement are now available for sale on both websites and on mobile apps.

Flynas wrote in the statement: "The partnership provides a unique advantage that supports Flynas’ development and expansion strategy in terms of enhancing its regional and international presence. It also allows Flynas to offer a wide range of travel solutions in addition to catering to its passengers’ diverse needs. Such partnerships also contribute towards developing the Kingdom’s air transport sector."

The Saudi carrier added, that it continually aims to enhance the quality of its services and cater to a wider client base through expanding its global and regional network. Flynas is currently using codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways and Pegasus Airlines.

Flynas was founded in 2007 and has become the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East since then. The carrier operates with a fleet of 30 Airbus A320 aircraft. In March this year, the airline received its second A320neo while a third will be added this month. In January 2017, Flynas signed an agreement with Airbus to purchase 80 A320neo Family aircraft.

Egyptair is the flag-carrier airline of Egypt and was initially founded in June 1932, 87 years ago. A year later, the airline commenced operations from today´s hub at Cairo. Egyptair is member of the Staralliance and flies with a fleet of 65 aircraft, including four Airbus A320s, 10 A330s, 29 Boeing B737s, six B777s, four B787 Dreamliner and 12 Embraer ERJ-170s.
