In 2017, Thessaloniki-Athens was one of the busiest domestic routes in Greece. Flag carrier Aegean Airlines, Ryanair and Ellinair serve the route with daily flights.

Now, Ellinair announced to base one Airbus A320 at Athens International Airport to offer better departure and arrival times.

Thanos Paschalis, Ellinair CEO, noted “Ellinair flights to Thessaloniki are not new, but what is new, is the way we intend to operate them.” While underlining that “We have listened to our customers and have adjusted the arrival and departure times from Athens to suit a single day return. Ellinair is committed to providing a high standard product for the market in Athens and today this is becoming a reality.”

In addition to the Thessaloniki-flights, Ellinair announced new flights from Athens to Rhodes and Krasnodar in Russia.

Ellinair was founded in 2013 and commenced operations one year later. The airline operates flights from its hub Thessaloniki International Airport with a fleet of two Airbus A319, two A320. During summer season, the airline leases four additional A320 as well as two Boeing 737-300.
