Airlines Gulf Air unveils new livery on first Boeing 787-9

Gulf Air has unveiled its new Corporate Identity on their first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which will be delivered this month.

This weekend, the Bahraini airline sent its first Dreamliner to do a fly pass over the 2018 Formula 1 Grand Prix at Bahrain. It was the first time, Gulf Air presented its new livery to the public. Until 2020, the carrier expects to take delivery of 10 Boeing 787-9.

A9C-FA is set to be delivered on April 27, 2018 and will be then deployed on the route from Bahrain to London-Heathrow. Gulf Air´s Boeing 787-9s can accommodate 282 passengers in a two-class configuration. There are 26 seats in the Falcon Gold Class and 256 in economy class.

By the end of 2018, five Boeing 787-9 will have entered the airlines´ fleet. In 2019, the carrier will take delivery of two more and three additional aircraft are expected to arrive by end 2020. With the aircraft. Gulf Air will replace its fleet of six Airbus A330-200.

H.E. Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Chairman of Gulf Air’s Board of Directors, said: “Gulf Air is looking to provide a unique experience for passengers on its new, incoming fleet across both its business and economy class cabins, as the airline prepares for the upcoming entry of the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to its fleet. In line with Bahrain’s Vision 2030, Gulf Air’s mission is to connect and establish Bahrain as a gateway to the world while continually enhancing the passenger experience across every touchpoint and developing the human capital resources that exist within the Kingdom’s national carrier."

Gulf Air seeks to further enhance its fleet by also modernizing the short- to medium-haul fleet. The carrier has Airbus A320neo aircraft on order, which are likely to replace aging A320ceo aircraft.

In February 2018, Gulf Air announced a new corporate strategy, which included network expansion plans to eight new destinations. For this year, the carrier aims to serve 50 cities.

Gulf Air is the flag carrier of Bahrain and is headquartered in Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain. Its fleet consists of 28 aircraft, including 16 Airbus A320s, 6 Airbus A321, and 6 Airbus A330s. 49 routes are being served to 50 destinations.
