The French all-business carrier has announced to move from its current hub Paris Charles de Gaulle to Paris-Orly.

Following the announcement in last September to acquire two Airbus A321Neo, La Compagnie has now confirmed plans to transfer its operations to Orly Airport.

"We are pleased to announce today the transfer of our airport operations to Orly in summer 2018. We are getting closer to our target audience in Paris, but also multiply the routing possibilities for our customers. This is a great development opportunity for our company at the moment where Orly is transforming to offer more space and more services for passengers," said Jean Charles Périno, Commercial & Marketing Director of La Compagnie.

La Compagnie operates a fleet of two Boeing 757-200 with only 74 seats in the business-class cabin on its daily route from Paris to Newark Airport in New York. A former connection between Newark and London was suspended in September 2016 due to economic reasons.

The move comes some months after La Compagnie’s major competitor, the British Airways subsidiary OpenSkies has announced to cease operations. Openskies will suspend its flights from Paris-Orly to New York JFK in March and its flights to Newark in September 2018. The company will focus on operating flights for IAG Group’s long-haul low cost subsidiary Level, which plans to open a new base in Paris-Orly in July 2018.

As Air France only connects Paris-Orly with New York’s JFK, La Compagnie could become the only carrier connecting the French capital with Newark.

Since September 2017, La Compagnie offers an all-you-can-fly pass for its transatlantic route, costing $40.000 per year.
