Airlines Lufthansa Group to acquire 8000 new employees in 2018

The Deutsche Lufthansa AG has announced to hire more than 8000 new employees this year.

Of the overall 8000 new employees, 4000 will work as flight attendants for various Lufthansa Group airlines. Lufthansa´s mainline plans to hire around 2,500 flight attendants for its hubs at Munich and Frankfurt. Last year, over 10,000 candidates have attended an audition or the regular applicants´ days. Referring to the airline, almost every third candidate received a job offer.

Lufthansa Technik will hire 500 personnel at different locations. Austrian Airlines plans to acquire 500 employees in different business areas, such as flight attendants, for the check-in and the cockpit.

Dr. Bettina Volkens, member of the Executive Board and Head of HR & Legal Affairs at Deutsche Lufthansa AG said: "Last year, over 100,000 applications were submitted to the career portal Be-Lufthansa. We're very proud of that. We are very pleased that we are able to hire more than 8,000 employees again this year,"

Furthermore, 250 apprentices will begin training or studying in the Lufthansa Group across Germany.
