Airlines Max Air to commence domestic flights

Nigerian airline Max Air plans to commence domestic operations. The airline will use its Boeing 737-300, which was recently acquired.

To the local press, Ibrahim Dahiru, Public Relations Manager at Max Air, stated that it has concluded an agreement for domestic operations throughout Nigeria. Flights are set to concentrate on Nigeria´s biggest city Lagos.

Flights will be operated with a sole Boeing 737-300, which flew for Southwest Airlines beforehand. According to the statement, the aircraft will be based at Kano, which is located in the Northern part of Nigeria. The aircraft can seat 130 passengers. It is said, that Max Air plans to add a further two aircraft to its fleet.

Max Air was incorporated in March 2003 and established in 2007. Today, the airline has a total of three aircraft in its fleet. One Boeing 747-400, one Boeing 737-300 and one Embraer 135 aircraft. Originally, Max Air has been operating as a Charter Airline, mainly for serving annual Hajj and Umrah flights.
