Airlines Neos to add a further ALC Boeing 787-9 to its fleet
The Air Lease Corporation has announced, that it has signed a long-term lease agreement for a Boeing 787-9 with Italian carrier Neos.
Neos is expecting to receive the aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2019. The aircraft originates from Air Leas Corporation´s order book with Boeing.
Currently, the Italian carrier operates two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on long-haul routes. The additional aircraft will help Neos to further enhance and expand its international network.
Furthermore, the acquisition reflects the carrier´s intention to renew its fleet. Aging Boeing 767-300 aircraft will be phased out over the coming years.
Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation commented: “Air Lease is very pleased to be delivering one of our new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to Neos in Italy later next year [...] We have a long relationship with the owners and management of Neos and we will be working together to grow the airline.”
Managing Director of Neos, Carlo Stradiotti added: “We are honoured to be doing business with our friends at ALC again and look forward to the delivery next year of this new Boeing 787-9 on long-term lease arrangement with Air Lease.”
Neos is an Italian leisure airline, headquartered in Somma Lombardo, Italy. The carrier has its operational base at Milan-Malpensa airport, from where it flies to various international destinations. Neo´s all-Boeing fleet consists of five Boeing B737-800s, three B767-300s and two B787-9 Dreamliners. When it received its first B787-9 in 2017, the carrier became Italy´s first airline to operate the aircraft type.
Air Lease Corporation (ALC) is a leading aircraft leasing company. The headquarters are in Los Angeles, United States. ALC has placed various orders for modern aircraft in the past years. On Farnborough International Air Show 2018, the company announced an order for 75 B737 MAX 8s and three B787-9s.
