On its Facebook page, NextJet stated that from May 16th, 2018, all flights will be cancelled.

In the statement, the airline wrote: “Pending the appointment of a bankruptcy trustee and making decisions about the company's future, customers who booked a trip with Nextjet are referred to their travel agency or card issuer. Our customer service is closed until further notice.”

The end of operations for NextJet is expected to have a huge impact on the regional aviation market in Sweden. Several Airports like Vilhelmina, Lycksele, Arvidsjaur, Gällivare or Hemavan only had scheduled flight from NextJet. Therefore, these airports now have been left without any scheduled passenger air services.

Last year, the Swedish Transport Agency Transportstyrelsen already discussed the AOC of NextJet since it had concerns about the operator´s sustainability.

NextJet operated with three Saab 340A and six Saab 340B turboprop aircraft. Moreover, the carrier’s fleet included four British Aerospace BAe ATPs and one wet-leased ATR42 from DOT. The airline focussed on Swedish domestic operations. 22 destinations have been served on 29 routes.
