Qatar Airways and LATAM Airlines Brasil have signed an expanded codeshare agreement that sees both airlines extending their respective networks. The carrier has been working together for over four years now and the decision to expand the codeshare operations underlines the success of the partnership.

With the new codeshare agreement, Qatar Airways will fly 10 times weekly between Doha and Sao Paulo. Qatar Airways will place its airline code on 45 additional LATAM Airlines Brasil flights, which customers from both airlines are then able to book.

This means, that a seamless travel experience is being provided to the customers, as flights between Doha and the selected flights in the LATAM network can be booked via only one website and passengers will also be able to check-through luggage directly.

LATAM Airlines Brasil customers will be able to book flights from Sao Paulo onboard Qatar Airways´ latest aircraft type, the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000, which features two travel classes and one of the best travel experiences in the market.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “South America is a strategically important market for Qatar Airways. We are proud to demonstrate our strong commitment to passengers travelling to and from South America by providing even more flexible travel options. By increasing São Paulo services to 10 weekly flights and expanding our codeshare agreement with LATAM Airlines Brasil, we will further cement our position as the airline of choice for customers travelling between Asia, the Middle East and South America.”

LATAM Brasil CEO, Mr. Jerome Cadier, added: “We are expanding connectivity and the choice of destinations for our customers. Even in a year as difficult as 2020, we are committed to offering our passengers more options to travel further with greater convenience and simplicity.”

The codeshare agreement is still subject to regulatory approval, but when approved and especially after COVID-19 times, the agreement will see the airlines to broaden their respective connectivity to the world.
