Airlines Qatar Airways receives first ever A350-1000

Qatar Airways has received the world´s first Airbus A350-1000 in Toulouse, France. A ceremony was held to celebrate the first delivery.

The first A350-1000 for Qatar Airways, registered as A7-ANA, has been delivered, and is one of altogether 37 A350-1000 ordered by the Gulf airline. The aircraft features a new cabin with Qsuite seats, which offer the first ever double bed in Business class.

Originally, the delivery was planned in the fourth Quarter of 2017, but got postponed several times.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker stated: “Qatar Airways always demands the very best for its customers, so it is right that we are the first airline in the world to fly the Airbus A350-1000 [...] This remarkable state-of-the-art aircraft will become a firm part of Qatar Airways fleet and will keep us ahead of the curve, allowing us to continue to offer our passengers outstanding levels of comfort and service”.

Currently, Qatar Airways operates 20 Airbus A350-900 and is the largest A350 XWB customer with 76 aircraft on order.

In December 2017, Qatar Airways has ordered 50 Airbus A321Neo ACF. Furthermore, the airline plans to take delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX in 2018. However, the airline will send the aircraft into service at its subsidiary Air Italy.
