Airlines Royal Air Maroc to join oneworld alliance on 1 April

After Royal Air Maroc (RAM) had signed the intention to join oneworld alliance back in December 2018, the airline will now officially join on 1 April 2020. RAM will become the first full member in the African continent.

In the last 15 months, the airline navigated through an implementation programme that allows Royal Air Maroc to seamlessly integrate into oneworld. Next to the main carrier, subsidiary airline Royal Air Maroc Express will also join as a oneworld member.

Royal Air Maroc will add 39 destinations in 23 countries to the alliance´s network. It also offers more flights and options for the frequent flyers of all member airlines. From its main operational hub in Casablanca, Royal Air Maroc connects to over 100 destinations in more than 50 countries. RAM also operates to the oneworld hubs Amman, Doha, London Heathrow, Madrid, Miami, Moscow Domodedovo and New York John F Kennedy.

While the average duration of the integration process varies between 18 and 20 months, it would take us just 15 months, between the invitation and the official integration, to become a full member of the prestigious oneworld Alliance. This is mainly due to the fact that our systems were at a higher level, which facilitated their alignment with those of the Alliance; and also thanks to the great efforts of our teams, who were motivated to lead successfully this grandiose project for Royal Air Maroc and the Kingdom.”

RAM is oneworld´s first new full member to join since 2014. In the past months, the alliance introduced a fresh brand position and tagline to kick off the third decade of operations. Oneworld stated, that its corporate identity will better reflect the millennial generation of today´s travellers.
