Airlines SkyWork Airlines receives unlimited operating license

On October 31, 2017, the Swiss full service carrier SkyWork has announced, that it was granted the full admission to operate again. Airlines have to show a proof of finance to the Federal Office of Civil Aviation in order to grant a correct handling and maintaining of the carrier’s flight operations. Earlier in October, SkyWork has stated in a press release, that the airline could not submit such a proof of finance to the Swiss aviation authorities for the winter flight plan 2017/2018.

As of October 31, SkyWork has submitted its proof of finance to the Federal Office of Civil Aviation. German media reports the carrier has found a local investor. As a consequence, the admission to operate was renewed immediately and SkyWork will continue its normal operations.

The airline’s CEO, Martin Inäbnit, said: “I thank all customers, suppliers and service providers for their understanding and strong support during the last uncertain days”

As a reaction to the recommencing of SkyWork’s operations from Bern, Adria Airways has cancelled all flights from and to the Swiss city. Adria Airways with its Swiss subsidiary, the former Darwin Airlines, has announced own operations from Bern/Belp in the last days. The carrier planned to connect Bern with several cities that are currently served by SkyWork. According to German media all Adria Airways flights have been canceled. On the company’s website flights are no longer bookable.

SkyWork Airlines AG is a Swiss business carrier based in Belp near Bern. The airline serves 20 destinations with a fleet of three Dornier 328-100 and three Saab 2000.
