Airlines Southwest Airlines extends flight schedule

Southwest Airlines has announced, that it will extend its bookable flight schedule for Winter 2019.

With the new schedule, passengers will be able to use several new nonstop destinations between cities that have previously not been offered by the Low-Cost carrier. Moreover, Southwest Airlines is making available for booking all year´s holiday flights, so that customers can start their holiday travel planning as early as possible.

Adam Decaire, Southwest's Managing Director of Network Planning, said: "Today's schedule extension shows the depth of Southwest's growing network with new nonstop links among even more cities than ever before [...] Our Teams are highly energized by continuing to develop our route map with more flights between more places while maintaining our core focus of connecting People to what's important in their lives."

Beginning November 4, 2018, Southwest will connect New York LaGuardia with New Orleans, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Furthermore, the airlines will increase the weekday flight from LaGuardia to Dallas (five times a day), Denver (three times a day) and Kansas City (two times a day). 35 daily flights will be offered from LaGuardia by the end of November 2018.

Further new routes are from Washington D.C. to Oklahoma City, from San Jose to Tucson, from Burbank to Houston and Chicago, from Denver to Lubbock and El Paso, as well as from Houston to Philadelphia and Sacramento. All focus cities of the airline will experience additional frequencies.

Besides the domestic operations, Southwest Airlines will also expand its international services. A third nonstop flight will be added on the Ft. Lauderdale – Havana route. Additionally, services between Chicago and Cabon San Lucas will be commenced. This route however is subject to government approvals. Ft. Lauderdale will see the resumption of daily flights to Belize, Grand Cayman and Turks and Caicos. Houston will add international routes to Liberia and Cancun to its portfolio.

Southwest Airlines is a US-American Low-Cost carrier, headquartered in Dallas. The airline commenced operations in 1971 and has grown a fleet of 718 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 15 Boeing 737 MAX 8, 197 Boeing 737-800 and 506 Boeing 737-700. The carrier serves 100 destinations in 12 countries.
