The new routes will commence from February 26, 2018. St. Maarten – Curacao will be served daily, St. Maarten - Santo Domingo five times a week and St. Maarten – Port au Prince (Haiti) two times a week.

For the new destinations, Winair partners up with Air Antilles, which will operate the flights. Air Antilles uses ATR-42 aircraft, which can seat up to 48 passengers in an all-economy seating configuration.

Michael Cleaver, CEO & President of Winair, said: “In keeping with Winair’s tradition of providing safe, reliable transportation we are very pleased to recommence service to these destinations. Winair looks forward to the continued support of the shareholders, employees and most importantly our customers with these new services. This positive development fills a much needed void in air connectivity and will also provide additional employment to St. Maarteners in these trying times”

Currently, Winair offers ultra-short-haul services to Guadeloupe, St. Kitts, Dominica, Antigua, St. Barths, Saba, Nevis, Tortola, St. Eustatius and San Juan. The current fleet consists of five De Havilland Twin-Otter, one ATR-42 which is being operated by Air Antilles and one McDonnell Douglas MD-80, which is being operated by Pawa Dominicana and currently grounded due to financial difficulties.
