Over the past twelve months (to 31 October 2017) WIZZ has carried more than 5.5 million passengers on its Luton routes alone, an increase of 11% compared to 2016, making WIZZ the second largest carrier at Luton airport. In 2018 the carrier plans to offer more than 6.9 million seats on its 46 routes to 20 countries.

The new aircraft will be used to open new routes to Larnaca (Cyprus), Bratislava (Slovakia), Tallinn (Estonia), Tirana (Albania) and Lviv (Ukraine). In addition to the new services, Wizz Air will increase the frequency of flights to existing routes to Tel Aviv (Israel), Suceava (Romania) and Pristina (Kosovo).

The first Western European hub of Wizz Air at London Luton Airport was announced in February 2017. Currently Wizz Air connects the airport with over 30 destinations, mostly in Eastern European countries. Wizz Air currently operates a fleet of 87 aircraft including 64 Airbus A320 and 24 Airbus A321 mostly from Eastern European bases. The carrier has placed an order for 72 A320Neo and 74 A321Neo during Dubai Airshow 2017.
