Airports Scoot announces flights from Singapore to Berlin

Singapore Airlines long haul low cost subsidiary Scoot has announced a new connection from its hub Singapore Airport to Berlin-Tegel.

The carrier will connect the capital of Germany and the South East Asian city every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday beginning in the second half of 2018. All flights will be operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

"This new long haul connection to one of the most significant finance centres of Asia is an enormous boost for us," exclams Prof. Dr.-Ing. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, chairman of the board for Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. "In Singapore, Berlin has an excellent reputation as an innovative Metropole and centre for technology, research and economy. In Singapore, you know that this is where worldwide start-ups and creative scenes congregate."

The new connection to Berlin will be the fourth Singapore Airlines Group destination in Germany. The main carrier offers daily flights to Frankfurt/Main, Munich and Düsseldorf.

Scoot is a low cost carrier which belongs to Singapore Airlines Group, and was founded in 2012. In 2017 Scoot merged with Tigerair Singapore and today flies to 61 destinations in 16 countries, including many Asia and Australia. Berlin-Tegel will be the second European destination in the carrier’s network after the launch of weekly flights from Singapore to Athens in June 2017.

Scoot is the second airline beside Lufthansa (Berlin- New York JFK), that announces a new route from Berlin-Tegel after the insolvency of AirBerlin.
