Freight Air Bridge Cargo adds Ho Chi Minh City to its network

Russian freight operator Air Bridge Cargo has added Ho Chi Minh City to its international cargo network.

The new route will link customers from Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore with the other destinations of Air Bridge Cargo´s route network. The carrier will serve the route to the Vietnamese city with Boeing 747 freighter to guarantee a 48-hour delivery time.

Ho Chi Minh City will become the 12th Asian destination in the portfolio of Air Bridge Cargo. To date, Vietnam has been served by the operator for more than 3 years now. Together with Hanoi, the new operation to Ho Chi Minh City will provide more options for customer deliveries in the country.

Sergey Lazarev, General Director of Air Bridge Cargo Airlines said: “On the back of economy growth of more than 7% and increasing export volumes, Vietnam seems like the right place to offer direct freight services to other regions, especially Europe and the North America – something we can offer to the market with diversified number of destinations and high level of service quality, including for special cargoes”

Mr. Nguyen Nam Tien - Vice Director of Tan Son Nhat International Airport (TIA) added: “We greatly welcome Air Bridge Cargo Airlines at our airport and Ho Chi Minh City market. We strongly believe that our cooperation will strengthen position of SGN airport, as most local freight forwarder will get access to direct freighter services to Russia, EU and North America”

Air Bridge Cargo stated, that it is still working on a network expansion, that develops new offers for special freights. Moreover, the carrier aims to introduce IT-solutions and industry-related initiatives.

The carrier is part of the Volga-Dnepr group and is headquartered in Moscow, Russia. Its main operational hub is at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport, from where the carrier deploys a fleet of 18 Boeing 747 freighter. 7 Boeing 747-400F and 11 Boeing 747-8F are currently in the fleet. Air Bridge Cargo´s sister airline, CargoLogicAir, is headquartered in the UK.

During the Farnborough International Airshow 2018, the Volga-Dnepr announced a firm order for five additional Boeing 747-8F. Furthermore, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the purchase of 29 Boeing 777F.1
