Freight Atlas Air Worldwide announces 747-400F agreement with SF Express

The US cargo airline Atlas Air has announced another leasing agreement for one of its Boeing 747 Freighter.

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings today announced that its Atlas Air, Inc. unit has entered into an aircraft transportation services agreement to operate a Boeing 747-400 Freighter for the Chinese express service provider SF Express. The aircraft will be used to enhance operating capability between China and the United States.

Atlas Air will operate the aircraft on behalf of SF Express on routes across the transpacific market, connecting China with the United States. The aircraft will enter into service in October 2018.

New York-based Atlas Air is a global provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services. It is the parent company of Atlas Air, Southern Air Holdings, Titan Avition Holdings and is the majority shareholder of Polar Air Cargo. With around 30 B747 Freighter in service, the company operates the world’s largest B747 Freighter fleet. Beside the B747, the airline operates Boeing 737, B757, B767 and B777 Freighters. Largest external leasing customers are DHL, Amazon and Boeing for the four B747 Dreamlifter. Atlas Air recently announced a similar cooperation with the Korean airline Asiana, which also leases Boeing 747.
