Freight GA Telesis orders six converted B737-800SF with AEI
Leasing company GA Telesis has announced a new order for six Boeing B737-800SF converted by Aeronautical Engineers (AEI).
GA Telesis (GAT) has released a new deal to support its growth strategy in the freighter market. Together with conversion specialist Aeronautical Engineers, the company has signed for six Boeing 737-800SF to be converted. The order was executed by GAT´s Leasing, Investments, Finance & Trading Group LIFT.
The group has been ordering with AEI in the past and this latest order represents the third incremental placement. Together, LIFT now holds total deliveries and conversion slots for 12 Boeing 737-800SF.
According to GA Telesis, conversions from this additional order will begin next year to continue until early 2023. The group is even evaluating the possibility to place more conversion orders in the future or other aircraft freighter models as the cargo industry is quickly changing.
“We have a very aggressive and deliberate strategy that has continued to grow since launching our first conversion over a year ago, and we will continue to refine it to include other aircraft platforms in support of our cargo airline customers worldwide,” said Marc Cho, President of the LIFT Group.
David Ellis, Sr. Vice President, ATG, added: “The Asset Transaction Group (ATG) continues to grow our narrow-body freighter portfolio, and the GA Telesis Ecosystem™ continues to deliver value across the platform that differentiates us from other freight lessors […] Our ability to provide spares support, engine, APU, leasing, and contributions from our various MROs add significant value to our customers, beyond what many of our competitors can offer.”
Aeronautical Engineers is the oldest aircraft conversion company in the world. It was formed in 1958 and has now provided advanced conversion solutions to customers for over 60 years. Currently, AEI is offering conversions for the Boeing 737-300, 737-400, 737-800, McDonnell Douglas MD-80 and CRJ200 aircraft series.
GA Telesis is a provider for services in the commercial industry. It offers leasing and financing solutions, component services and MRO. LIFT is GAT´s multi-strategy aviation platform that specializes in aircraft and engine leasing, trading and financing.
