The cargo carrier delivered two GE-90 engines and aerospace equipment for GECAS. The An-124-100 flew from Dallas (United States) to London (UK). A total payload of 64 tons was transported, with one GE-90 already weighting 12,000 kg.

Due to the dimensions of the engine, only the An-124-100 is capable of carrying such a big engine. This is one reason, why the both companies decided to work together. But Volga-Dnepr Airlines not only transports engines for GECAS, furthermore the airline takes propulsors, fan cases and other equipment with on-board.

Russell Means, GE Global Key Account Manager at Volga-Dnepr said: “We are delighted to have GECAS among our customers, extending our long-term and reliable partnership with General Electric. It is an honor to support both companies with our expertise and experience and to find the most cost-efficient logistics solutions for their needs. Our active and dynamic team of cargo professionals was able to organize this charter taking into consideration all requirements and guaranteeing a high-quality logistics service.”
