Over the course of the 75th anniversary of Bonanza aircraft, Textron Aviation company Beechcraft will release a special edition of the popular Bonanza G36 single-piston airplane. To commemorate this milestone for the company and the extraordinary achievement, the manufacturer has opened an order book for the special G36.

First deliveries are scheduled for next year, which will be the 75th year since the G36 entered into the market. It is the longest continuously produced aircraft in the history of aircraft manufacturing, Textron Aviation stated.

With the special edition, Beechcraft wants to blend modern technology with retro styling to create a product that represents the journey of the Bonanza G36. In its 75 year history, several iterations have been released by the manufacturer as technology became more and more advanced.

“The retro scheme of our 75th anniversary special edition Bonanza is a nod to Mrs. Beech’s strength, vision, pioneering leadership and her well-documented style,” Lannie O’Bannion, Regional Vice President Sales at Textron Aviation, said. “The interior color combination is inspired by trends from the 1950s, when Mrs. Beech assumed leadership of the company.”

“Olive Ann became president in 1950 upon Walter’s death, making her the first woman to head a major aircraft company. Her legendary career spanned 50 years and by the time she retired in 1982, she’d played key roles in growing the company from 10 to 10,000 employees and made an impact on the aviation industry in numerous ways,“ the manufacturer stated.

The 75th anniversary special edition Beechcraft Bonanza G36 is wearing a color scheme with “Mrs. Beech Blue”, a color that was adopted by Olive Ann on the advice of Oleg Cassini, a fashion designer.

The aircraft incorporates the color on the exterior paint scheme, as well as in the interior of the aircraft, where window panels, the carpet and accents will be colored in the famous blue. “The seat upholstery lines and sidewall /table contours add a sporty, modern interest to the retro color palette. Other details include a “Bubble B” logo registered in 1954 on the carpet entry and her signature used as a metal piece above the cabin table and as an exterior graphic below the pilot window,“ the manufacturer added.

Since its introduction, Beechcraft has built and delivered 18,000 Bonanza aircraft in total. The G36 is capable of flying more than 920 nautical miles at a maximum cruise speed of 176 knots.
