General Aviation Boeing launches business jet BBJ 777X

Boeing Business Jets announced, that it is launching the BBJ 777X, a brand new Boing Business Jet model.

The VIP aircraft subsidiary of Boeing announced, that the BBJ 777X will become the aircraft with the longest range ever built. According to the manufacturer, the 777X will be capable of virtually connecting any two cities in the world.

Boeing announced the new business jet model over the course of the bi-annual Middle East Business Aviation Association Show (MEBAA) at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

With a range of 11,645 nautical miles (21,570 kilometres), the BBJ 777-8 offers the longest range. The other part of Boeing´s BBJ 777X portfolio is the BBJ 777-9, which can fly up to 11,000 nautical miles (20,370 kilometres).

Greg Laxton, head of Boeing Business Jets commented: "Our most exclusive customers want to travel with the best space and comfort and fly directly to their destination. The new BBJ 777X will be able to do this like no other airplane before it, redefining ultra-long range VIP travel."

The BBJ 777-8 offers cabin space of 3,256 square feet (302,5 square meters), while the BBJ 777-9 offers 3,689 square feet (342,7 square meters). Over the course of the BBJ 777X launch, companies like Greenpoint Technologies, Jet Aviation and Unique Aircraft Design showed cabin concepts that eventually can be implemented in the aircraft.

During MEBAA, Boeing also announced a new customer for its BBJ MAX portfolio, bringing the business jet family to 21 airframes ordered. Compared to the BBJ 777X, the BBJ MAX Family has a range of up to 7,000 nautical miles (12,964 kilometres).

Boeing Business Jets offers the product lines BBJ MAX Family, Boeing BBJ 787 Dreamliner, BBJ 777X and BBJ 747-8. The subsidiary was founded in 1996 and has since then delivered a total of 234 jets.
