Business Jet manufacturer Gulfstream has officially opened its new company-owned service center at Palm Beach International Airport, Florida. According to the manufacturer, the facility will be shared with Jet Aviation, but each company has a hanger and shared office space.

In total, the joint facility measures 161,000 square feet/14,960 square meters, of which over 104,000 square feet/9,600 square meters are dedicated to Gulfstream. Up to seven Gulfstream G650ER or G650 aircraft can be accommodated within the hangar. With 56,700 square feet/5,267 square meters, Jet Aviation holds the smaller part of the complex.

Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Customer Support commented: “Gulfstream has had a presence in Palm Beach for almost 20 years with the capability to accommodate all Gulfstream models [...] We are excited to open a state-of-the-art facility that will offer world-class service to a greater number of Gulfstream aircraft simultaneously. The Palm Beach service center is well-positioned to support customers in domestic and international markets, including South America.”

At the Palm Beach facility, Gulfstream plans to offer a range of services, including structural modifications and repairs, major aircraft inspections, avionics installations and system upgrades.

According to Gulfstream, the facility is a “certified U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and European Union Aviation Safety Agency repair station and has maintenance approvals from Argentina, Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Brazil, Burundi, Canada, the Cayman Islands, the Isle of Man, Mexico, Peru, San Marino and Venezuela."

The latest opening underlines the manufacturer´s ambition to strengthen its customer support network. Last year, Gulfstream celebrated the opening of a new facility in Van Nuys, California and then expanded in Appelton, Wisconsin and Savannah.

In the coming years, Gulfstream will even open a new customer service center in Farnborough, England. First construction works have started recently.

Gulfstream Aerospace is one of the largest aerospace companies in the world and its first aircraft, the Gulfstream I performed its first flight in 1958. Since then, the manufacturer has produced more than 2,900 aircraft for customers around the world.
