General Aviation Gulfstream opens support parts hub in Atlanta

Business jet manufacturer Gulfstream has announced, that it has opened a new support parts hub in Atlanta.

Within two miles of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has opened a new support hub for spare parts. This hub is dedicated for aircraft parts to be distributed worldwide.

Located near one of the largest airports in the world, the hub is ideal for a quick and efficient delivery for parts around the globe. From Atlanta, several major airlines are taking-off to mostly domestic, but also international destinations.

Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Customer Support, explained: “Atlanta is the optimal choice for our newest warehouse [...] Hartsfield-Jackson typically offers more than 150 domestic and 70 international nonstop flights and has been named the most efficient airport in the world. By distributing parts directly from Atlanta, we can save shipping and delivery time in order to provide the most expedient service to our customers.”

Partner of Gulfstream for this operation is Crane Worldwide Logistics, a company that provides the warehouse space and that handles the logistical process. Crane Worldwide was founded in 2008 in Houston and currently has 120 locations across 30 countries.

In the warehouse, there are approximately USD 23 million in parts inventory.

"The Gulfstream parts network includes the main Customer Support Distribution Centre in Savannah with additional distribution centres in Van Nuys, California; Teterboro, New Jersey; Amsterdam; Basel, Switzerland; Hong Kong; and Singapore. Gulfstream’s global parts inventory totals more than $1.3 billion," the manufacturer added.

Gulfstream Aerospace is one of the largest aerospace companies in the world and its first aircraft, the Gulfstream I performed its first flight in 1958. Since then, the manufacturer has produced more than 2,900 aircraft for customers around the world.

The current line-up consists of the super-midsize Gulfstream G280, the Gulfstream G650, the high-performing Gulfstream G650ER and an all-new aircraft family, the clean-sheet Gulfstream G500, Gulfstream G600 and new industry flagship, the Gulfstream G700.
