Helicopters Air Zermatt signed purchase agreement for additional Bell 429

During Helitech International, an event for the rotorcraft industry in London, Bell Helicopter announced the signed purchase agreement for a Bell 429 to Air Zermatt. It is not the first Bell 429 in the fleet of Air Zermatt, they are already operating with one of them.

The new aircraft is configured to support Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) for day and night missions. It should be delivered at spring in 2018 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Air Zermatt.

Bell Helicopter, founded in July 10, 1935 by Lawrence Dale Bell, is an American helicopter and aerospace supplier with its headquarter in Fort Worth in Texas. The company builds commercial and military helicopters with a wide range of different models, including the Bell 429. The Bell 429 is a light, twin-engine helicopter based on the precursor Bell 427.The helicopter has a four-blade rotor system with soft-in-plane flex beams and 8 seats.

The Air Zermatt AG, founded in 1968, is a Swiss airline and flight which operates mainly medical and tourist transports. The company has 65 employees and as the first rescue company in Switzerland it employs established doctors and anesthesiologists. As a partner of the Swiss rescue organization KWRO, Air Zermatt is responsible for transport and safety in the region of Zermatt-Matterhorn.  It currently operates a fleet of nine helicopter, 5 Eurocopter AS350 B3, 1 Aérospatiale SA-315 B Lama, 1 Eurocopter EC135 T3, 1 Eurocopter EC 13 T2 and already one Bell 429.
