The two H145 helicopters were delivered from Airbus Helicopters´ manufacturing line in Donauwörth, Germany.

Rega will receive four more H145, which will then bring the operator´s H145 fleet to six aircraft. The H145 will replace Rega´s existing fleet of six EC145 helicopters, which will be successively phased out by mid-2019. The EC145 fleet gave medical assistance to around 60,000 patients to date. Rega now seeks to use the EC145´s successor for its services.

Ernst Kohler, CEO of Rega, commented: “The H145 represents a continuation of our success story and ensures that we can continue to provide our patients with reliable and professional help in the years to come.”

The first H145 helicopter for Rega is expected to enter service in October 2018. Operational Base will be at Bern in Switzerland.

“We are proud that such an internationally renowned operator as Rega has placed its trust in our H145 family over such a long period of time,” added Wolfgang Schoder, CEO of Airbus Helicopters Germany.

Rega will use the H145s cabin abilities to transport patients who need medical assistance. The helicopter features the Helionix digital avionics suite, which provides a 4-axis autopilot and a user-friendly data management. Overall, the state-of-the-art avionics will reduce the pilot´s workload and will increase the situational awareness.

In April 2018, Rega took delivery of its first converted Bombardier Challenger 650, which replaced the operator´s aging fleet of Challenger 604 aircraft.

Rega is a non-profit foundation from Switzerland. The operator accomplishes medical services with a fleet of 17 Challenger jets and ambulance helicopters.
