Helicopters Airbus Helicopters delivers first H175 in Brazil
Airbus Helicopters has delivered its first H175 aircraft to a Brazilian customer.
Omni Taxi Aereo has become the first operator in Brazil to perform flights with the H175 helicopter from Airbus Helicopters. The company will use the rotorcraft for transport missions in the oil and gas industry.
The aircraft has already been ferried to Brazil and will be introduced to cargo load and passenger transport missions for the country. For Airbus, the delivery of the first H175 is a milestone, as it strengthens the presence of the manufacturer in the country.
For Omni Taxi Aereo, the H175 becomes the latest Airbus helicopter to enter the fleet. The operator is already flying passenger transport missions with H135, H155 and H225 helicopters.
Roberto Coimbra, CEO of Omni Taxi Aereo commented: “The H175 offers the right mix of comfort, performance and cost-effectiveness and I am very pleased with the introduction of this aircraft in Omni’s fleet [...] With a range that enables Omni to reach 100 percent of Brazil’s offshore installations and high technology equipment on board it is a very promising aircraft to serve the Brazilian oil and gas market”.
Regis Magnac, Vice President Oil and Gas at Airbus Helicopters added: “OMNI has been a true partner for over a decade and I am honoured by their renewed confidence in Airbus’ helicopters [...] With currently 40 aircraft in service having accumulated more than 85,000 flight hours, the H175 has set new standards for offshore operations across the world and I thank OMNI for introducing the aircraft to the important Brazilian oil and gas market.”
Airbus´ H175 is a popular choice for customers in the oil and gas industry, as it offers good performance, cost efficiency and the ability to accommodate up to 16 passengers on board.
Omni´s H175 has been equipped with Airbus Helicopter´s integrated Helionix suite, which includes advanced avionics and a 4-axis autopilot. The autopilot helps pilots to gain better situational awareness and improved operational safety overall. It helps to reduce pilot workload and can also land automatically on oil platforms thanks to the Rig´N Fly mode.
Omni Taxi Aereo is an oil and gas transport company and a part of the OMNI Helicopters International Group (OHI). The fleet consists of several helicopters including the H135, H155 and H225, AW139, AW189 and the Sikorsky S61, S92A and S76C.
