Helicopter leasing company Milestone Aviation has ordered five Airbus Helicopters H145. Aramco Overseas Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, will receive the aircraft.

Currently, Aramco has 24 medium sized aircraft on lease with Milestone Aviation. The new leasing commitment shows the carrier´s will to further grow in the petroleum and chemicals branch.

Within 12 months, Aramco seeks to take delivery of the H145 aircraft. The operator will introduce the light-twin aircraft over the course of a fleet renewal program.

Milestone President & CEO Daniel Rosenthal said: “Aramco’s trust in Milestone’s ability to deliver certainty of execution — coupled with our financial and technical capabilities — is greatly appreciated by our team.”

Airbus Helicopters CEO Bruno Even added: “We are pleased that Aramco has selected the H145 for its light-twin fleet renewal program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is a key and historic partner for Airbus and home to our subsidiary in the region.”

Airbus Helicopter´s H145 aircraft is widely known for its high intensity operations capabilities. Customers of the light-twin helicopters are especially working in the offshore oil and gas transport segment. The aircraft is often being used for transportation, due to its flexible cabin.

“We also thank Milestone for enabling the introduction of the H145 to a new operator through their long-standing relationship with Aramco and their existing orderbook with Airbus. The H145’s proven technologies, availability, and cabin versatility are the perfect tools to meet Aramco’s demanding requirements as a global leader in oil and gas,” Even added.

In its class, the H145 has said to have the lowest maintenance costs. It furthermore features the Helionix digital avionics suite from Airbus. To date, more than 200 H145s have been delivered. Since 2015, the global fleet has collectively flown more than 100,000 flight hours.
