Industry Aegean Airlines orders 30 A320Neo Family aircraft

The purchase agreement, comprising 10 A321Neos and 20 A320Neos, was signed by Aegean Chairman Eftichios Vassilakis and Airbus Chief Executive Officer Tom Enders. 

It follows an earlier Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2018. Currently, Aegean operates a fleet of 49 Airbus aircraft (37 A320s, 11 A321s and 1 A319).

Eftichios Vassilakis, Chairman of AEGEAN stated: “Our agreement with Airbus augments Aegean’s capacity for development along with a trusted, long standing partner. We invest in the bestselling A320Neo Family to enhance our competitiveness and to further improve our service offering to our passengers. The Star Alliance member operates scheduled and charter services from its bases in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca to domestic and international destinations. According to its website, Aegean Airlines has transported over 13 million passengers in 2017.

The current fleet of A320 Family aircraft is operated with a two-class configuration, offering 12 seats in business class.
