Industry Air Lease Corporation orders eight Boeing 737 MAX 8

Air Lease Corporations (ALC) and Boeing have finalized an order for eight more 737 MAX 8 airplanes.

According to list prices, the deal is valued at approximately $936.8 million. ALC is an airplane leasing company with now 138 MAX aircraft on order.

John Poerschke, Executive Vice President of Air Lease Corporation said: "These aircraft perfectly fit ALC's and our airline lessees' growing need for additional 737 MAX 8 aircraft.  Our success in MAX placements to date speaks to the strong market demand for these aircraft."

Ihssane Mounir, senior vice president, Global Sales & Marketing, The Boeing Company, added: "The ALC team has a great track record of forecasting what airlines want in terms of new airplanes. Their growing commitment to the 737 MAX reflects the strong market demand for this airplane around the world [...] We're pleased that ALC is having success with the 737 MAX's capabilities and efficiencies which are critical traits lessors need in their portfolios."

To date, ALC has already taken delivery of four MAX aircraft, with the fifth being due in May 2018. Altogether, Boeing has received over 4,400 orders for its MAX programme, from 96 worldwide customers.

ALC is a global aircraft leasing company, which purchases commercial aircraft and leases them to airline customers. Currently, ALC has leased over 294 aircraft to 91 customers in 55 countries. The company focuses on major aircraft manufacturers like Airbus, Boeing and Embraer. ALC has several hundred aircraft on order, including Airbus' A320neo family.
