Carriers Air Serbia and Luxair released, that the companies have entered into a Special Prorate Agreement to set up a strategic partnership. With the agreement, customers will gain better access to destinations within the airlines´ networks.

"Thanks to a proactive approach and quick reactions, we have managed to establish a partnership with Luxair, shortly after it introduced direct flights between Belgrade and Luxembourg. We are happy that passengers of both airlines will have greater choice and flexibility when planning their trips. We remain focused on constant improvement of our services and the expansion of cooperation with our partners," said Jiri Marek, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.

At the beginning of June, Luxair commenced direct passenger flights between Luxembourg and Belgrade on a two times a week rotation. This shows that demand to connect the two countries is there.

Thomas Fischer, Commercial Director at Luxair, added: "We are delighted to develop our activity towards such a broad and important area of Eastern Europe through the cooperation with Air Serbia. At Luxair, allowing communities to meet and generate commercial and cultural exchanges is our main goal. This agreement will allow the expatriated communities resident in Luxembourg to easily reach their homeland and the Luxembourgish community to discover the beauties and the heritage of the region."

From July on, passengers of Luxair will have the opportunity to use Air Serbia´s network from Belgrade to various destinations like Athens or Skopje, which would not be reachable by only using Luxair. Vice versa, Air Serbia passengers are now able to connect via Luxembourg to destinations throughout Europe like Vienna, Paris or Rome.

Luxair is the national flag-carrier of its country and was founded back in 1961. The airline offers flights to central European destinations with a fleet of nearly 20 aircraft. Currently, eight Boeing 737s and 11 De Havilland Dash-8 belong to the fleet.

Air Serbia was founded in August 2013 and has its operational hub at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The carrier is serving passenger flights with a fleet of nearly 20 aircraft, too. Air Serbia has five ATR 72s, 11 Airbus A319s, one A320 and one A330-200 in its fleet.
