With the deal, Airbus has now successfully closed a gap in its portfolio, concerning the 108-133 seat area with the CS100, and the 130-160 seat area with the CS300, without having to allow development costs. The manufacturer expects, that the market potential of the aircraft will raise up to 6,000 aircraft over the next 20 years.

However, it still remains unclear under which aircraft name the C Series will be marketed by Airbus. Experts speculated, that Airbus will rename the CS100 to “A210” and the CS300 to “A230”.

The state-of-the-art C Series Family is said to be highly efficient under everyday operations. Moreover, new Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G engines will ensure good operational costs, less noise and decreased emissions. The engines are said to feature 20 percent lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation aircraft.

Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer, headquartered in Toulouse, France. The company sells both civil and military aircraft to customers around the world. Recently, Airbus has opened a fourth production line for its successful A320neo Family in Hamburg, Germany.
