Regional carrier Envoy Air, a wholly subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, is undergoing a fleet transformation and expects to be operating at least 69 Embraer E175s by 2020. With the fleet modernization, the carrier is working towards being the safest, most reliable, most successful regional airline in the world for their customers, employees and shareholders, as the airline states its vision.

Since Embraer’s launch of the E-Jet program in 2013, American Airlines has ordered a total of 104 E175 jets from the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer. The airline ordered another 15 E175s as recently as May 2018. Envoy will operate the newly ordered aircraft within their new fleet concept. The configuration of 76 seats will include 12 First Class seats and 64 Main Cabin seats, including Main Cabin Extra seats.

“This new order from American Airlines continues to show the value that airlines place on our best-selling E175 aircraft,” said Charlie Hillis, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, North America, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “We are fully committed to providing fleet solutions that have a positive bottom line impact, and our E175 leads the charge with over 80 percent market share in the North American market.”

Embraer states that, including this order, the aircraft manufacturer has sold more than 435 E175s to airlines in North America since January 2013. With 100 customers worldwide, Embraer has logged more than 1,800 orders and 1,400 deliveries for the E-Jets program alone. With this program, the company successfully seeks to redefine the traditional concept of regional aircraft since 2013 when the E-Jets program was launched at the Paris Air Show. Embraer was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Brazil.

Envoy was founded in 1998 as American Eagle Airlines, Inc. Several smaller regional carriers merged to create one of the largest regional airlines in the world. Today, the wholly subsidiary of the American Airlines Group operates a fleet of more than 150 jets, including Bombardier CRJ-700 (63/65 seats), the Embraer 145 (50 seats) and the Embraer 140 (44 seats). The carrier’s network covers more than 150 destinations with nearly 1000 flights daily. The airline is headquartered in Irving, Texas.
