With immediate effect, Arcus Air Group has released its logistics division that consisted of Air Cargo Charter and On Board Courier business. These two parts will now go to company Chapman Freeborn, a company of the Avia Solutions Group.

Russi Batliwala, CEO of Chapman Freeborn said: “We are proud to welcome the highly experienced teams of Arcus Air Logistics to our growing family. This is an opportune time to join forces given the trends in the global cargo logistics space. I believe Arcus Air Logistics will further strengthen our group’s business as we continue our strategy of growth through diversification in the niche aircraft charter industry.”

The Arcus Air Group however will still operate two Dornier Do2287-212 cargo aircraft on behalf of Chapman Freeborn. Furthermore, managing director Alejandro Tapia Haarmann will step down from its activities in the logistics division.

Alejandro Tapia Haarmann commented: “Arcus Air will in future concentrate on the airline and executive aviation,” [...] “To this end, the company had already added another EMBRAER Phenom 100 to its fleet last year, being the largest Phenom 100 fleet in Europe.”

For the future, Arcus Air intends to use additional capacities to meet the growing demand for private jet charters in Europe. Currently, the company operates with a total of seven Phenom 100s. These aircraft allow the company to offer flexible and customer-oriented products.

“The demand for private jets has increased by about 20% in the Arcus Air Group during the second half of 2019. The outbreak of the pandemic put an abrupt end to this development. However, it is already apparent after the first opening of the borders that this development will continue. Taking in consideration the new environment the safety aspect also plays a major role for people right now and the greatest possible safety is of course given when flying alone or just with family or close friends“, Haarmann concluded.

Arcus Air is an airline based in Troisdorf, Germany. The company is offering charter services with Embraer Phenom 100 business jets. Arcus Air was founded in 1973 and currently has offices in Germany, Spain and Slovakia.
