Industry Avolon confirms order for 100 A320neo Family aircraft

The Irish aircraft lessor will receive 75 A320neos and 25 A321neos, making it the largest order for Airbus aircraft ever placed by Avolon. With the order, Avolon has now 284 aircraft on order at Airbus, including 240 single-aisle and 44 widebody aircraft like the A330neo and the A350 XWB.

According to current list prices, the new order is valued at US$11.5 billion. Deliveries are planned from 2023 onwards.

Avolon already has received 22 single-aisle aircraft and four wide-body aircraft, bringing the overall backlog to 285 aircraft. Avolon currently is the largest Airbus aircraft lessor.

Airbus´ best-selling A320neo Family consists of the A319neo, A320neo and A321neo. New engines and state-of-the-art aerodynamic enhancements like the Sharklets deliver more than 15 percent fuel and CO2 savings. By 2020, these enhancements will bring more than 15 percent fuel savings. To date, Airbus has received a total of 6,200 orders from over 100 worldwide customers. The A320 Family has captured around 60 percent of the market.
