Industry Bombardier is winning more customers with Atmosphère [with Video]

After a long dry-spell for the CRJ-series bombardier is seeing an increase in orders in the second half of 2018.

With a new, more spacious cabin design, Bombardier is making the CRJ-series more attractive for customers after orders had recessed in the past years. Features of the Atmosphère cabin design are generally more space for passengers, lagers hand-luggage storage areas, larger windows and an LED-lighting that can be customized to customers’ needs

“Atmospère was developed by looking at market trends, speaking to airlines, speaking to customers as well as industry experts to understand what were the needs of passengers and what the future requirements were going to be,” said Stephen Kalhok, Product Marketing Manager at Bombardier.

At Farnborough Airshow 2018 Bombardier had taken the order of four CRJ 900 from Uganda Airlines. Uganda Airlines will be the first operator of CRJ aircraft with the Atmosphère cabin design in Africa. Delta ordered 20 new CRJ 900 in June es well. American Airlines had ordered 15 CRJ 900 in May with deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2019. American and Delta will be the first operators worldwide to feature the ne cabin design for Bombardier’s CRJ.

The new ATMOSPHÈRE cabin sets new standards of passenger experience in the regional jet market segment. Key features of the new interior are comprised of larger passenger living space, wheel-first roller bag capability, more spacious lavatory, increased cabin connectivity options, all integrated in a contemporary design and material choices. In fact, the ATMOSPHÈRE cabin design allows passengers to carry and store an “oversized” roller bag within the aircraft cabin bins which minimizes the need to check bags at the counter or the gate.
