Industry COMAC delivers two ARJ21 to Chengdu Airlines and Air China
COMAC has announced, that it has delivered two new ARJ21 regional aircraft to two Chinese carriers.
Chinese aircraft manufacturer COMAC has delivered two ARJ21 regional jets. Air China has taken delivery of its second aircraft, while Chengdu Airlines has received its 23rd aircraft, after becoming launch operator in 2015.
For Air China, one of the largest airlines in the country, it is the second of 25 aircraft the airline ordered back in August last year. This year, Air China welcomed its first ARJ21 regional jet to the fleet.
A delivery ceremony was held, at which Mr. Wei Yingbiao, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of COMAC said: "The growth of COMAC is inseparable from the strong support of airlines, and we hoped that both sides would work hand in hand to jointly promote the development of the China-made civil aircraft. COMAC insists on the principle of being customer centered, listen carefully to customers' opinions, and continually improve the products and service level."
Since the entry-into-service, Air China has used its ARJ21 on routes between Beijing and Xilinhot and Baotou and plans to further strengthen its regional network with the second aircraft.
Chengdu Airlines also received a new ARJ21, the 23rd airframe to join the Chinese airline. The delivery also represents the 37th ARJ21 to ever be delivered to a customer. B-620E is being leased from AVIC International Leasing to Chengdu Airlines.
"Mr. Zhou Xinmin, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of COMAC, expressed gratitude to AVIC Leasing and Chengdu Airlines for their attention and support to the China-made civil aircraft, and hoped that airlines, financial leasing institutions and COMAC would cooperate closely to jointly promote the continuous development of the China-made civil aircraft," COMAC released.
For more than 5 years now, Chengdu Airlines has been using the ARJ21 aircraft on regional routes. Since its introduction, the carrier was able to strengthen its network with a good operational performance of the aircraft.
