Industry COMAC opens new Program Center

Over the course of an unveiling ceremony, COMAC has opened a new Program Center. Mr. Zhao Yuerang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of COMAC, and Mr. Guo Bozhi, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of COMAC, attended the unveiling ceremony.

The new center is, according to the company, an important measure taken to focus on the development strategy, the phase objectives of “Three Ones” and the future. This new center strengthens the program management construction and the core competence construction.

Ultimately, COMAC seeks to promote the long-term development of the company with this new facility. The development of the three aircraft programs had been very important for the Chinese manufacturer, as it wants to stand in competition with larger manufacturers like Airbus or Boeing.

Mr. Guo Bozhi emphasized: "The development of the three aircraft programs had been the most important work of COMAC, and the program center should further enhance the sense of responsibility, focus on the implementation of program management on one hand and focus on the construction of program management system on the other hand, work in the forefront, promote the ultimate realization of the company's objectives of "Three Ones", and focus on making breakthroughs to realistically solve key problems."

He added, that all departments and units of COMAC should stand and work together in order to unify their thoughts, reach a consensus and to earnestly translate the requirements of the party committee of the company into concrete actions. COMAC wants to steadily promote the research and development of the three aircraft programs.

The company added: "COMAC Program Center is an extension organization of the program management function and core competence construction of COMAC headquarters, is led by the program management department of the company to carry out the overall management and implementation of each business line of the company's three aircraft programs, provide support for all levels of chief engineers and engineering VP, and establish and improve the program management capability, system, process and method of COMAC."
