Industry Easyjet orders additional 17 Airbus A320Neo
British low-cost carrier Easyjet has announced an order for additional 17 Airbus A320Neo aircraft.
In the press release, published on the aircraft manufacturer’s website, Airbus confirms it has reached an agreement with Easyjet for additional 17 Airbus A320Neo, which will be delivered until 2023.
In total the low cost airline has now ordered 147 A320Neo Family aircraft, including 30 larger A321Neo. Until now, Easyjet has ordered 468 A320 aircraft from Airbus.
“This repeat order cements Easyjet’s position as the largest European operator of our leading A320 family,” says Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer. “We are delighted that our aircraft keep contributing to Easyjet’s ongoing success.”
All new delivered aircraft will have 186 seats in a single-class configuration and will be powered by Leap CFM engines.
Easyjet operates a fleet of 316 A320 Family aircraft including 17 A320Neo’s and three A321Neo’s making it the world’s largest airline operator of the single aisle aircraft type. Beside over 165 A320, Easyjet operates 132 smaller A319 with a seating capacity for 156 passengers.
Easyjet operates flights from several bases all over Europe.
