Industry Flynas receives first Airbus A320neo

Low-cost carrier Flynas has received its first Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The state-of-the-art aircraft was handed over to Flynas during a ceremony, held at the Airbus delivery centre in Toulouse, France. With the delivery, Flynas has become Saudi Arabia´s first A320neo operator.

HZ-NS22 is the first of 80 A320neo on order by the Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier. Back in January 2017, the airline signed a firm purchase agreement with deliveries scheduled to take place between 2018 and 2026.

In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has become the largest domestic aviation market. With Flynas being one of the biggest carrier in the area, becoming the first A320neo operator in the country is a big milestone.

Currently, Flynas operates a fleet of 30 A320ceos. The airline was founded in 2007 and has set ambitious growth plans in order to carry more passenger. Last year, Flynas transported more than 6.4 million passengers. During the first half of 2018, 3 million passengers decided to fly with the carrier.

Airbus´ A320neo Family is among the best-selling single aisle aircraft in the world. The Family received over 6,200 orders from over 100 worldwide customers to date. Equipped with high-bypass ratio engines and other aerodynamic features, the A320neo is significantly more efficient and has a 50% reduction in noise footprint compared to previous aircraft generations.
