The delivery marks the official arrival of a new Gulfstream generation of design and innovation. The North-American customer took delivery of the aircraft at Gulfstream´s headquarters in Savannah, United States.

Mark Burns, president at Gulfstream commented: “We’re proud of the work we and our suppliers have done to deliver a technologically advanced, all-new, clean-sheet aircraft that exceeds our customers’ expectations and continues the longstanding Gulfstream tradition of excellence.”

On July 20, 2018, the new G500 received its production certificate, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certificate. The test-bed aircraft flew more than 5,000 hours over the course of the development, demonstration and certification process.

Gulfstream´s latest generation of the G500 features new seat designs, the Symmetry Flight Deck and overall enhanced performance capabilities and cabin comfort. Gulfstream seeks to begin regular deliveries of the G500 this year, after the first aircraft was completed and delivered on time.

Earlier this year, the aircraft established more than 20 city-pair speed records during a high-speed world tour. The tour was intended to acquire new customers and to showcase new innovations to the public. 44 cities in 18 countries have been visited by the new aircraft.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is a fully-owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. The aircraft manufacturer is well known for its private jets. Since 1958, the U.S.-American manufacturer has delivered more than 2,800 aircraft for customers around the world.

The current business jet portfolio consists of the Gulfstream G280, G550, G500, G600, G650 and the G650ER. The new G600 is currently in the type certification phase. Gulfstream hopes to deliver the first G600 aircraft to customers in 2019.
