Industry Royal Air Maroc orders four Boeing 787-9

Boeing and Royal Air Maroc (RAM) have signed a contract for four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The deal is valued at $1.1 billion at list prices.

The order consists of two 787s, which were ordered by RAM in December 2016 and two 787s purchased this month. Royal Air Maroc already operates fife 787-8s. With the new airplanes, the airline aims to further expand services from Casablanca to Europe, the Middle East, South America and North America. In December 2014, RAM received its first Boeing 787.

Royal Air Maroc is Morocco´s flag carrier and was founded in 1957, therefore celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. More than 80 destinations are being served by 38 Boeing 737, four Embraer ERJ-190s, one Boeing 747-400, 3 Boeing 767-300s and five Boeing 787-8s, as well as one Airbus A320. RAM is headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco.
