The convoy included six subassemblies: The nose, central and aft fuselage parts, the two wings and also the tail plane. Next month, the final assembly for ANA´s first Airbus A380 will start at Airbus´ main production facility at Toulouse. Once the aircraft is assembled, it will be ferried to Hamburg-Finkenwerder, where the cabin will be installed.

In 2016, ANA became the first Airbus A380 customer in Japan, by ordering three superjumbos. Planned delivery for the first double-decker is in early 2019. Initially, ANA plans to deploy the aircraft on the Tokyo – Honolulu route.

ANA´s A380 will wear a special Hawaiian green sea turtle livery, which is said to bring luck and prosperity.

Recently, Airbus had to announce, that it will reduce the production rate for the A380 programme due to weak demand. Over this course, Virgin Atlantic had officially cancelled its A380 order. On the other hand, British Airways seems to be interested in buying additional A380.

13 customers are flying Airbus´ prestige aircraft currently. 222 A380s are being deployed to 60 destinations. 240 airports in the world have the capabilities to accommodate the A380.
