Industry Zodiac Aerospace to be merged into Safran

Zodiac Aerospace and Safran have announced, that an agreement was signed for the merger of Zodiac Aerospace into Safran.

The merger was initially announced on June 1, 2018 and has now been confirmed. To gain approval of Safran´s shareholders, the merger will be submitted on a meeting held on November 27, 2018.

In the first quarter of 2018, Safran acquired Zodiac Aerospace. The transaction now follows this acquisition further to the close of Safran´s offer for Zodiac shares. With Zodiac Aerospace being merged into the group, Safran will continue to streamline the structure of the group.

Safran announced, that the proposed exchange rate has been set at 0.2745 ordinary Safran shares for one Zodiac Aerospace share. Ordinary Safran shares that are being issued as part of the merger are immediately transferable shares.

With the merger, Safran seeks to furthermore invest in its services portfolio. Zodiac Aerospace is known for its know-how in aerospace equipment and systems and will help the group to move forward. Currently, Zodiac Aerospace employs 35,000 people worldwide.

Safran is an international high-technology group in the aircraft equipment, propulsion, space and defense markets. Over 58,000 employees worldwide generated sales of €16.5 billion last year. With Zodiac Aerospace included, the group hires over 91,000 employees. Safran is especially known for its aircraft engines.

Zodiac Aerospace is a company that has specialized itself on the aerospace equipment and systems market. The company develops cabins for commercial, regional and business aircraft. Moreover, Zodiac offers high-technology systems to increase flight safety and aircraft performance.
